CoActiv Debuts Additional Worldwide Data Archiving Site
Pact with Level (3) Communications for state-of-the-art storage
Nov. 12, 2006, Ridgefield, CT-- CoActiv, LLC, developer and marketer of radiology and related healthcare imaging information systems debuts ultra-fast, worldwide archive access and enhancements to its EXAM-VAULT® System archiving service at RSNA 2006. The data archiving access is now available in Stamford, Connecticut through a new co-location agreement with Internet backbone provider, Level 3 Communications, Inc.
Recognizing that streamlined data access, productivity and throughput are key in the healthcare market, CoActiv has now located one of its storage facilities at the Level (3) Tier-IV data center in Stamford. This new site at Level (3) is complemented by the existing archive facility for the EXAM-VAULT System at Tarrytown, New York. CoActiv employs its QUADREDUNDANT ARCHIVING™ service technology and processes for synchronous data transmission (mirrored) between the data centers.
Level 3 Communications, Inc. is one of the world’s largest information service companies and Internet backbones with facilities around the globe. The pact with Level (3) gives CoActiv customers the option of instant access to 850+ Internet “Points of Presence,” 320 Gbps of trans-Atlantic data communications capacity, 1 million miles of installed metropolitan fiber and 78 data centers throughout North America and Europe.
Through its agreement with Level (3), CoActiv will also provide customers with additional Tier-IV secure archiving capacity for medical images and records. As deployed with EXAM-VAULT System service technology, CoActiv customers are assured of the fastest archived medical data access available.
With the archiving service enhancements CoActiv is able to provide a virtually instant IT cross-connect to link its existing EXAM-VAULT System Tier-IV data centers to additional Tier-IV data centers in all Level (3) U.S. and European locations. This will provide customers with ongoing, secure access to medical images and records in more than 23 cities in 15 European countries as well as 77 major U.S. and North American cities on an as-needed basis.
