CoActiv Upgrades EXAM-PACS® Product Line
Ridgefield, CT - CoActiv Medical Business Solutions of Ridgefield, CT, a software and systems provider to hospitals and imaging centers, today announced enhancements and price reductions to their CoActiv EXAM-PACS®, an affordable and modular PACS solution. CoActiv will be demonstrating their EXAMPACS® products at the 2004 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Conference in booth # 2478, November 28th through December 3rd, in Chicago, Ill.
CoActiv EXAM-PACS® now allows unlimited copies of their clinical exam viewing software to be installed throughout facilities for one, low, fixed price. Radiologists, attending physicians, staff doctors, ICU and ER staff can now view exams from multiple locations, virtually anywhere in the hospital, using the identical software used in the hospital or imaging center radiology department. “Even before this additional cost savings, CoActiv EXAM-PACS® sold for about 1/3 to 1/4 the cost of other PACS products,” states Edward Heere, CoActiv President & CEO.
CoActiv has also expanded the functionality of their EXAM-Sender®, EXAM-Filer® and EXAM-Vault® modules, in addition to now making them compatible with other PACS systems and functional directly from the modalities.
EXAM-Sender®, which transmits radiology images, voice clips, reports and patient information to referring and consulting physicians automatically in a background mode, now allows a referring physician to openly search the entire exam database with search restrictions determined by the imaging facility. This configurable functionality is tailored to a facility’s specific needs and in accordance with HIPAA policies. CoActiv’s EXAM-Sender® method of getting exams and other patient information to referring doctors is so unique that a US Patent is pending on this process.
EXAM-Filer®, CoActiv’s exam-CD burning solution, has added complete robotic capabilities to accommodate the needs of larger facilities. Also, EXAM-Filer® technology is now available for use with most other PACS systems, giving many more institutions the ability to integrate CoActiv’s exam-CD burning technology with their legacy systems. EXAM- Filer® can also work directly from most modalities in the absence of a PACS system.
EXAM-Vault®, CoActiv’s unique Quad-Redundant, HIPAA compliant, on-site and off-site, on-line archiving system, can now be integrated with most other PACS systems at a cost of only pennies per exam. EXAM-Vault® keeps all archive exams on-line at the facility and also stores them on-line in multiple redundant class A data centers, located in different states, on different power grids and different internet peering points. CoActiv EXAM-Vault® automatically saves exams four times and provides instant exam retrieval making it one of the fastest and most secure exam-archiving systems available in the world.
